Find out which natural dressing is best for the garden and how to prepare vitamin water for plants.
How to prepare vitamin water for plants
To provide the vitamins and nutrients that plants need, we must make a special preparation, called “vitamin water” to irrigate, it has the following ingredients:
- ½ cup of uncooked rice,
- 4 tablespoons of aloe vera,
- a liter of water
- a container
We will add two cups of water and the ½ cup of uncooked rice in a container, we must leave it to rest for at least 12 hours. Once this type of rest has been completed, we will have to mix the ingredients, for this we can use a blender. Add the aloe vera and more water.
Once the ingredients are mixed, we must strain them and pour them into a container to be able to have vitamin water, to irrigate.
How to prevent tap water from damaging the plant?
The easiest way to dechlorinate tap water is to boil the water or leave it in the sun for at least 24 hours. This will cause the chlorine it contains to evaporate. You can safely use the water for houseplants after doing this.
Hard water means that the water contains high traces of limestone deposits. You can filter tap water for plants by boiling it. Boiling will help separate the dissolved limestone from the water.
Tap water contains the risk of having a potentially high pH. Calcium dissolved in water increases the pH and prevents the plant from absorbing nutrients. If tap water is used continuously to water the plant, it can even increase the pH of the soil over time.
Most plants do well with a pH between 5.5 and 7.0. To lower the pH of tap water, add phosphoric acid or a pH-lowering solution. Check the needs of your plants, as some, like azaleas, prefer an acidic environment.
These tips on watering plants, and preparing vitamin water to provide all the nutrients, can make a difference in your garden.
